2 Band Fixed and Selectable Equalizer
As previously mentioned, there are many different types of eq, all will have different band ratings. The basic rule is that the higher the band number, the more selectable the eq can be.
They start with a 2 band, fixed frequency. This is not really used in recording studios as they are more suited to domestic HI FI units. The shelving example is appropriate for this application.
The other 2 band eq is the same as the first, except the the frequency can be selected. As before, 2 frequency ranges can be cut or boosted but now they can be adjusted. This type of eq is shown in the diagram below.
