Dynamic Microphones

These consist of a conductor located in the gap of a permanent magnet. Motion of the conductor produces a voltage proportional to its velocity. In the moving-coil microphone the coil, often referred to as voice coil, is connected to a diaphragm actuated by the sound waves. This means that no other voltage is recquired to operate the microphone as it operates passively.
