1/3 Octave Graphic Equalizer (Between 22 and 31 Bands)
This is the same as the equalizer above, but with more bands
Parametric Graphic Equalizer
This is usually one octave, 10 bands each with an adjustable Q and center frequency
Sweepable Graphic EQ
This is the same as the equalizer above but with a fixed Q
Software
Like with most pieces of hardware, software equalizers can be just as powerful as the hardware equivalents. They come in a variety of types, usually closely modeled on the previous types mentioned. They offer flexibility in that you can select the frequency on the graph and cut or boost it from that, rather than turning dials.
