The Notch Filter
The notch filter allows you to affect a large number of bands simultaneously which gives you greater flexibility in contouring the sound. They use peak dip curves with a fixed Q. The center frequencies have been standardised by the ISO (International Standards Organisation) and generally adhered to by most Pro-Audio manufacturers. The notch filter allows the rest of the sound to pass through and excludes what lies within the boundaries.
